Indoor Bounce: Point the flash upwards in rooms with white ceilings. The difference in softness is radical!

Fujifilm User: If it doesn't fire, change the shutter to "Mechanical" and the flash to M Mode in the menu.

Photos with black stripe: Your speed is too high. Lower it to 1/250s or 1/200s.
