The antenna requires a 100% clear view of the sky. If a tree, tall building, or pole blocks the antenna's field of view, you will experience micro-cuts in the connection.
Frequently Asked Questions about the Starlink Gen 3 Bundle
Can I cut or splice the cable if there's too much left over?
It is NOT recommended at all. The Starlink cable carries both data and high-voltage electrical power (proprietary PoE). Cutting it or attempting to splice it will void the warranty, may burn out the equipment, and will cause loss of speed. It is preferable to coil any excess cable in a wide circle and secure it.
Is the extra cable suitable for burying?
The included cable is outdoor-shielded and resistant to rain and sun, but it is not 'Direct Burial' type. If you need to run it underground from the garden to your house, you must place it inside a PVC tube or conduit to protect it from subterranean moisture and rodents.
Do I need to buy a separate Ethernet adapter?
No. One of the great advantages of this new Router (Gen 3) is that it already has two integrated Ethernet ports on the back. You can connect your switch, console, or PC directly.
