Along with the new Xperia Stream Gaming Gear peripheral, Sony unveiled the updated Sony Xperia 1 IV Gaming Edition smartphone. Xperia Stream, designed exclusively for the Sony Xperia 1 IV smartphone, offers improved cooling and connectivity.

The first smartphone with real optical zoom from the SONY brand is the Sony Xperia 1 IV. This advanced technology device has a native resolution of 1644 x 3840 pixels and a 6.5-inch screen with 120 Hz. With the Gaming Edition, the Japanese company has aimed to shift its focus to gaming as one of its key features.

The amount of RAM has increased from 12 to 16 gigabytes compared to the original version, and internal storage has increased from 256GB in the base configuration of the original model to 512GB in the Gaming Edition.

XperiaStream is included in this version. This is a casing specifically designed for the Xperia 1 IV Gaming Edition that includes an active dissipation fan.

At the bottom are an RJ45 port for Ethernet, an HDMI output, and a 3.5mm jack for audio input and output.

While the Ethernet port is responsible for providing a stable, reliable, and low-latency network connection, the HDMI port supports video output up to 1080p with a 120 Hz refresh rate. The smartphone can connect the Xperia Stream to the USB Type-C port.

The Xperia 1 IV gaming edition will still have the same features as the original version, including the following:

4K, OLED panel with 6.5 inches, with a non-adaptive refresh rate of 120 Hz. It includes screen bezels to avoid notches and holes, with more brightness than ever before, offering unprecedented color accuracy thanks to creator mode with CineAlta technology.

Its processor is Qualcomm's most powerful at the moment: the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, accompanied by 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage which can be supported by a MicroSD card for more storage.

With a front camera that goes up to 12 megapixels and a triple rear camera where all sensors are 12 megapixels: the main, the wide-angle, and the innovative telephoto with 85-125 mm optical zoom. All lenses have Real Time Eye Tracking and the camera relies on a 3D iToF sensor for focus.

It offers video functions for creating and sharing content, capable of recording 4K HDR videos at 120 fps with all its lenses; Eye AF and object tracking ensure the subject is always in focus, while the Videography Pro feature offers manual controls for more creative possibilities.

The battery has a capacity of up to 5,000 mAh, with support for 30W fast charging and wireless charging.
